Duke vs. Red Star: The Oblivion Express - GI Joes Comic Pack
Category: GI Joe Toys Thoughts, The GI Joes StoryI finally read this comic book that came with the GI Joe comic pack that includes the Duke and Red Star action figures.
I think the temporary alliance between these two characters is pretty interesting and does symbolize the way such things work in the real world outside of the GI Joes universe.
Alliances are built between real world operations all the time. These alliances can happen between two commonly opposed parties for the ability to complete a mission that the two parties may have in common and necessity.
Duke symbolizes American strength and leadership. He symbolizes our freedom and courage of the American G.I. Red Star symbolizes the harsh and direct beliefs of many in the former Soviet Union. Below the levels of what you see in the press and what is expressed by leadership in our country and Russia exist two peoples with common interests and desires.
Once I compile the information that I’ve received from some of my sources, I will begin to layout a “story” of many characters that are so much like the GI Joes that you have come to know and will learn more about in my blog.
You will have to determine if these “stories” are fact or fiction as I cannot and will not comment either way. I’ll just be the storyteller relaying much of this to you. You choose what you want to believe.
