GI Joes Bazooka - Missle Specialist - This Guy Must Work Out
The GI Joes Bazooka character is one that I was kind of wishy-washy on but have grown a bit fond of him. I’ll give you the scoop on that here shortly.
This GI Joes action figure was done very well. The body style seems unique and not like many of the repaints. Hasbro put some guns on this GI Joes team action figure. They did an excellent job of designing a muscular anti-armor expert. You’d think all anti-armor experts would be muscular. But, I assure you, they are not.
Now why would I comment on how real world anti-armor experts aren’t muscular like this GI Joes Missle Specialist? Well, because I was the anti-armor guy when I was with the 24th Infantry division as a collateral duty. In other words, I had to carry that huge friggin’ tow missile system, also known as the Dragon system, with me at all times. And at that point in my life, I was a scrawny young man who could never get enough to eat. Thank goodness, my anti-armor days were short lived.
GI Joes team Sgt. Bazooka’s real name is David L. Katzenbogen. I see why he goes by Bazooka. He started off as a tank driver, and that’s why I took the picture of the boots below. All of you “tanker” types will identify the footwear. Bazooka drove an Abrams tank for the 3rd Armor initially and transferred over to become a Dragon missile specialist/Milan missile specialist/LAW rocket trained/recoilless rifle/and every other Warsaw Pact RPG system. He also qualified as an EOD expert or known as explosive ordinance disposal. That’s a GI Joes asset if you ask me.
Besides GI Joes team Bazooka, I have had the pleasure of meeting three different EOD experts. I don’t want to judge them all by these three, but if my thinking is correct, these guys have several screws loose or as the cowboys put it, somebody stole his rudder.
